Reading Fluency

Reading fluency is the ability to read a text accurately, at an appropriate speed, and with expression. By listening to the full recorded reading of an assessment book by the student, our teaching team can assess and report on your child's reading fluency. We cannot assess for comprehension.

Optional Reading Fluency Assessments

Unsure how your child is progressing with reading fluency?  With your private student account, you can purchase an optional reading fluency assessment at the end of any level. Each reading level has a final reading fluency assessment book which is locked for private accounts. Upon purchase, a level assessment book can be unlocked for the student to record and submit their reading to Lecture Enfant's teaching team for a French reading fluency assessment.

How a Reading Fluency Assessment Works

  1. Student account purchases an optional reading fluency assessment through this site for any reading level.
  2. Lecture Enfant unlocks the teacher assessment function and the student is able to access and record their reading of the chosen assessment book. When the student is happy with their recording, they submit it through their student account to a Lecture Enfant teacher for assessment.
  3. Feedback is provided within 48 hours. View a sample of a reading fluency assessment.
  • Students can make unlimited attempts at recording before submitting to Lecture Enfant.  Students must listen to their own recording before submitting.

Huge Bonus Video Library

A collection of over 350 quality videos for additional French immersion reading support, to practice individual and blended letter sounds, skills for decoding new words, sight word lists, vocabulary, conjugated verbs and more is included with each private account. Currently this new collection of French immersion reading videos is accessed separately on our LivresVideo.net site (access included with subscription). We will soon be integrating our video library within the student dashboard, complete with student incentives for viewing.
